The Sexual Harassment & Prevention Cell, in association with the Women & Child Welfare Development Cell of NRAM Polytechnic, Nitte, organized a general talk on 8th January 2026 on Women & Child Welfare and Sexual Harassment (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) with the objective of creating awareness among students about women’s rights, child welfare and legal safeguards against sexual harassment.
Ms. Nandini B Shetty, Additional Government Pleader and Notary, Karkala, served as the resource person for the program. She provided detailed information on the legal provisions related to the prevention, prohibition and redressal of sexual harassment. The session highlighted the responsibilities of individuals & institutions in ensuring a safe & respectful environment, along with an explanation of complaint mechanisms and the role of the Internal Complaints Committee.
The Principal, Sri. Vishwanathan K addressed the gathering and emphasized the institution’s commitment to maintaining a secure, inclusive and disciplined campus. The address highlighted the importance of awareness, ethical conduct and mutual respect among students & staff and encouraged students to approach institutional committees without fear in case of any grievance.
