News from ABSMIDS | International Women’s Day

An SDG 5 program titled “Financial Awareness for Non-Teaching Women Staff of ABSMIDS” was conducted on 3rd March 2026 at Thrimshati Bhavan, ABSMIDS, in commemoration of International Women’s Day with the theme “Give to Gain.” The program aimed to empower non-teaching women staff with financial knowledge and promote financial independence.

Resource persons, Mr. Mahesha Ashwathappa, Manager, Canara Bank and Mr. Lateesh, Financial Literacy Officer, emphasized the importance of financial knowledge & skills, including budgeting & money management. They discussed saving & investment strategies, debt management and retirement & insurance planning. The participants were provided with information about various government-backed schemes, along with special women’s savings accounts and their benefits. They explained the precautions to be taken while using digital banking and shared the complaint helpline numbers to be contacted in case of any cyber fraud.

A total of 62 participants attended the program.
