News from NRAMP | Workshop on “Foundations of Machine Learning with Hands-on Training”

A one-day workshop on “Foundations of Machine Learning with Hands-on Training” was conducted for the Computer Science students by STACS (Students’ Association of Computer Science), NRAM Polytechnic, in association with the Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC) and Technical Association of Students Council (TASC) of NMAM Institute of Technology (NMAMIT), Nitte on 30th March 2026 to provide students with fundamental knowledge and practical exposure to Machine Learning concepts and applications.

During the practical sessions, students worked with tools such as Python, Pandas and Scikit-learn. They gained experience in data preprocessing, exploratory data analysis, and visualization, along with building simple machine learning models and evaluating their performance.

The department acknowledges the efforts of the resource persons - Dr. Rashmi Adyapady R, Ms. Swathi Pai M and Dr. Sharada U. Shenoy from NMAMIT. Student coordinators Mr. Sharan Rai K & Mr. Sharvin Dmello, with support from Ms. Shridevi M. and Ms. Suma Prabhu successfully organized the workshop.
