A Drug-Free India Awareness program was organized at Dr. NSAM PU College, Nitte on 24th June 2026 with the objective of educating students about the dangers of drug abuse and promoting a healthy & responsible lifestyle among the youth.
Chief Guest, Mr. Vijaya Prasad, Dy. SP, Karkala Sub-Division spoke about the harsh realities faced by drug addicts and urged students to pursue their goals with determination & stay away from all forms of substance abuse.
Mr. Sandip, Circle Inspector, Karkala, delivered an informative session on ‘Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act’ and explained the legal consequences of drug-related offences. Mr. Prasanna, Rural PSI, enlightened the students on the procedures for reporting drug consumers and drug peddlers to the police and emphasized the importance of public cooperation in combating the drug menace.
Mr. Navin Borkar, Rural PSI, Karkala and Ms. Seema Anjum, Probationary PSI were also present on the occasion.
