The inauguration of the 3-day workshop on Conducting Secondary Research: Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis organized by the Dept. of Medical-Surgical Nursing, NUINS in association with the Technical Resource Center, Manipal College of Pharmaceutical Sciences was held on 1st July 2026 at Nitte Gulabi Shetty Memorial Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Mangalore.
Dr. Latha S, Head, Medical-Surgical Nursing, NUINS welcomed the gathering. Dr. Praveen Kumar Shetty, Director (R&D), Nitte University, graced the occasion as Chief Guest, while Dr. Girish Thunga, Coordinator, Center for Toxicovigilance and Drug Safety & Technical Resource Center, MCOPS was the Guest of Honor. Prof. (Dr.) Fatima Dsilva, Principal, NUINS presided over the function. The inaugural program concluded with a vote of thanks by Ms. Drago Melba Bazel, Organising Secretary.
The dignitaries highlighted the growing importance of evidence-based practice and emphasized the role of systematic reviews and meta-analyses in generating high-quality research evidence for healthcare decision-making. They encouraged participants to strengthen their research competencies and contribute to scientific advancements through rigorous secondary research methodologies.
