A state-of-the-art Weather Monitoring Station developed by the students of NMAM Institute of Technology (NMAMIT), Nitte was inaugurated on 3rd July 2026 by Mr. Rohith Bhat, Founder of Wrkwrk, 99Games and Robosoft, in the presence of Mr. Atul Udupi (Executive Director, TiE Mangalore) and Mr. Siddarth Pai Manur (Software Developer, General Electric Healthcare).
This weather station continuously monitors and records key atmospheric and environmental parameters, including temperature, relative humidity, rainfall, wind speed, wind direction, Air Quality Index (AQI), carbon monoxide (CO), ozone (O₃) and particulate matter (PM₁, PM₂.₅, PM₄, and PM₁₀).
The collected data is transmitted to a secure cloud platform and displayed through a publicly accessible web dashboard, enabling users to monitor real-time weather and air quality conditions in the Nitte region from any internet-connected device. The live dashboard can be accessed at: https://nmamit-weather-station.web.app/
This initiative is a significant milestone as it is the first publicly accessible sensor-based weather and air quality monitoring station in the coastal region to provide comprehensive real-time monitoring of multiple environmental parameters through a single online platform.
The project was jointly developed by students of Electronics & Communication Engineering and Computer Science & Engineering departments under the guidance of Dr. Sukesh Rao M, Assoc. Professor, ECE, NMAMIT, Nitte.
