Nitte Institute of Allied Health Sciences, in collaboration with the Department of Radiodiagnosis & Imaging, KS Hegde Medical Academy and the International Relations Office, Nitte University organized a guest lecture by Dr. Rene Walter Botha, HoD, Clinical Sciences, Faculty of Health & Environmental Sciences, Central University of Technology, Free State, South Africa on 8th October 2025 in the Seminar Hall, Dept. of Radiology, Justice K S Hegde Charitable Hospital.
Dr. Botha, a distinguished academic & expert in healthcare education, focused on the topic of “Interprofessional Education,” an approach that emphasizes the collaborative practice among healthcare professionals from diverse disciplines. He highlighted how interprofessional education is crucial in fostering teamwork, effective communication and mutual respect among healthcare providers. According to Dr. Botha, such collaboration is essential for improving patient care and outcomes, especially in today’s complex and multidisciplinary healthcare environments. 50 students from various allied health programs attended the session.
