Mangaluru: The Department of Public Health, Nitte (Deemed to be University), in association with Nitte Medical Simulation Center (Nu-MEDISiM), KS Hegde Medical Academy, conducted a one-day hands-on training programme on CPR and First Aid for members of the Tulunadu chapter of Riding Brotherhood at Justice KS Hegde Charitable Hospital, Deralakatte, on 19 September 2026.
Initiated by Mr. Nikhil Thingalaya, Founder and Administrator of Riding Brotherhood, and Mr. Jupiter Lobo of the Harley Owners Group, the programme aimed to equip motorcycle riders with essential life-saving skills for responding to emergencies before professional medical assistance arrives.
The training covered adult, child and infant CPR, AED use, choking management, bleeding and wound care, burns, fractures and immobilisation, shock and fainting, safe patient handling, and first aid for road traffic emergencies.
The programme was inaugurated by Prof. (Dr.) Sripada G. Mehendale, Professor, Department of Anesthesiology, KSHEMA, with Dr. Shruthi KT, Assistant Coordinator, Nu-MEDISiM, serving as a resource person.
