Dr. NSAM First Grade College, Bengaluru held the Investiture Ceremony on 14th August 2026, to formally induct the newly elected Student Council office bearers for the academic year 2026-27. The ceremony marked the beginning of their responsibilities as student leaders and provided an opportunity to take on leadership roles within the college.

Dr. NSAM First Grade College, Bengaluru organized the Freshers’ Day 2026 on 19th August 2026, to welcome the new batch of students. The event provided an opportunity for freshers to interact with their peers, build new friendships and marked the start of a new academic chapter.










News from NICO | Film Workshop at NICO

The NICO Film Society organised a two-day hands-on film workshop titled “Designing the Scene: A Hands-on Workshop in Direction and Visual Storytelling” on 2nd & 3rd September 2026 at the institute. The workshop was conducted by Mr. Balaji Mathiyalagan, Media Educator, Filmmaker and AI-Driven Content Producer.

The workshop focused on the practical aspects of film direction and visual storytelling, providing students with an opportunity to understand how creative ideas can be translated into effective visual narratives. Through interactive sessions and practical exercises, students explored elements such as scene design, composition, visual planning, camera perspectives, and directing performances. Students were encouraged to think creatively and understand the relationship between storytelling and visual choices. The hands-on approach enabled participants to apply theoretical concepts to practical filmmaking situations.

News from NSAMPUCN | Student Council Inauguration

The Student Council Inauguration of Dr. NSAM Pre-University College, Nitte was held on 10th August 2026.

Mr. K M Ajila, Principal welcomed the gathering. Chief guest, Mr. Krishnaraja Joisa, PRO, NMAM Institute of Technology emphasized the importance of leadership, discipline, teamwork and responsibility.

The following students were elected as members of the Student Council and were presented their badges, symbolizing their responsibilities and commitment to serving as student leaders.

The event marked the beginning of their leadership journey and reminded them of their responsibility to work together for the welfare of the student community and contribute positively to the college. Dr. Prakash Shenoy, Administrative Officer encouraged the newly elected council members to perform their duties sincerely and set a good example for their fellow students.

Ms. Kavya, Student Council President, proposed the vote of thanks. The formal program was followed by an entertaining cultural event presented by the students, making the occasion lively and memorable.



News from NICO | NICO-Olam: Onam Celebration

The Onam Celebration at Nitte Institute of Communication (NICO) was organized on 31st August 2026 at the University Auditorium, Paneer Campus.

The celebration reflected the rich cultural traditions associated with Onam while providing students with an opportunity to come together and appreciate India’s diverse cultural heritage including the unique food from Malabar region. The students enthusiastically took part in the decoration & preparation of the venue, creating a vibrant & festive atmosphere. The celebration strengthened bonds among students and reinforced NICO’s commitment to celebrating diversity and building an inclusive campus community.

The event was planned and coordinated by the members of the Students Council and students of NICO, under the guidance of Dr. Pranamya Bhat, Student Council In-charge.




News from NIPT | Student Council Inauguration and Fresher's day Program

Nitte Institute of Physiotherapy held the Student Council Induction Ceremony for the academic year 2026-27 along with Freshers’ Day on 29th August 2026 at K S Hegde Auditorium. The program was organized to formally induct the newly constituted Student Council and welcome the new batch of students into the institution.

Prof. (Dr) Shahnawaz Manipady, Dean, Kanachur Institute of Medical Sciences was the Chief Guest and Dr. P. Nirmal Babu, Assoc. Professor, Orthopaedics, KSHEMA was the Guest of Honour.

The Student Council Induction marked the formal beginning of the new council’s responsibilities. The newly inducted student representatives were encouraged to uphold leadership, teamwork, while working towards the welfare of the student community and contributing positively to the institution.

At the Freshers’ Day celebration, students were introduced to the vibrant academic and social environment of Nitte Institute of Physiotherapy. Cultural events helped freshers build meaningful connections with their peers and become comfortable within the college community.

The program concluded with the vote of thanks.




News from NMAMIT | Inauguration of NSS Activities 2026-27

The NSS Unit of NMAMIT, Nitte, organized the inaugural event of its activities for the academic year 2026-27 on 29th August 2026 at Sambhram Auditorium, Nitte Campus. Dr. Harikrishna Bhat, Director, International Collaborations, Nitte University inaugurated the program. The event was presided over by Dr. Niranjan Chiplunkar, Principal, NMAMIT, Nitte.

Dr. Harikrishna Bhat recalled his 55-year-old memories of being an NSS volunteer at the then KREC, Surathkal. He emphasized the importance of developing a spirit of service to society alongside education and encouraged every student to contribute to society through service in one form or another.

Dr. Niranjan N. Chiplunkar expressed his support for the NSS unit and appreciated the various activities undertaken by NSS in recent years. He encouraged the volunteers to continue their efforts towards community service and social responsibility. The dignitaries distributed NSS identity cards to the core members of the unit, marking their formal association with NSS activities for the academic year.

Dr. Dhananjaya B, NSS Programme Officer, welcomed the gathering, while Ms. Spoorthi Bailoor, Student President, NSS Unit, delivered the vote of thanks. Ms. Likitha Shetty compered the program.

News from JKSHIM | Freshers Day

The Srjana Association of Justice K S Hegde Institute of Management rolled out the welcome mat for the 29th MBA batch with a Freshers Day celebration at the campus auditorium, packed with music, dance and performances from both juniors & seniors. The event began with a prayer before moving into a full lineup of cultural acts. Students took turns on stage with group dances, solo & duet singing and a mix of dance performances that kept the energy high through the evening. Malayalam semi-classical and traditional performances added another layer to the show, giving the newcomers a taste of the campus' cultural range.

Rather than just watching from the sidelines, the new batch was pulled into the fun through various activities designed to help them settle in and get comfortable with their seniors. The seniors put together some standout acts. A Bhaagavathike performance, a Malayalam semi-classical piece and an Onam Thaalam performance were among the highlights.

Beyond the performances, the event did what Freshers Day is meant to do - it broke the ice. Students from different sections who might not otherwise have crossed paths ended up working together and cheering each other on. The Freshers Day turned out to be a warm and energetic start for the new batch at JKSHIM.






News from NISH | Induction Program

Nitte Institute of Speech & Hearing organized an Induction Program on 10th August 2026 at Chintana Hall, Justice K S Hegde Charitable Hospital, as part of the orientation and induction activities for the new batch of students, to familiarize them with the institution, its academic environment and the support systems available to them during their course of study. The program was attended by the new batch of BASLP, MSc Speech-Language Pathology and MSc Audiology students.

Col. BS Ghivari (Retd.), Asst. Director (Student Affairs), Nitte University was the Resource Person for the program.

The program served as an opportunity to introduce students to the importance of discipline, responsibility, active participation and making effective use of the opportunities available within the University. It helped create a welcoming and supportive beginning for the new students as they embarked on this new phase of their academic and professional journey.




News from NISH | Student Wellness Session: Mind Matters

Nitte Institute of Speech and Hearing organized a Student Wellness Session titled “Mind Matters” on 10th August 2026 at Chintana Hall, Justice K. S. Hegde Charitable Hospital with the objective of promoting awareness about mental health and encouraging students to prioritize their thoughts, emotions and overall well-being in their day-to-day lives.

The program provided an opportunity for students to reflect on the importance of maintaining psychological well-being and seeking appropriate support when required. The program was attended by the new batch of UG & PG students.

Dr. Shreevidya, Asst. Professor and Counsellor, Student Wellness Centre, Nitte University, along with Ms. Priya, Lecturer & Counsellor, served as resource persons for the session. The program focused on sensitizing students to the significance of mental health and fostering a positive and supportive approach towards emotional well-being. The resource persons also addressed the issue of drug abuse, creating awareness about its adverse effects and emphasizing the importance of making informed and responsible choices. The session reinforced the importance of self-care, emotional resilience, healthy decision-making and timely support.
