One day Faculty Development Program on “Artificial Intelligence | Machine Learning | Deep Learning” A one day Faculty Development Program (FDP) on “Artificial Intelligence |Machine Learning | Deep Learning” was organized by the Department of Electronics & Communication Engineering on 8th April, 2018 at NMAM Institute of Technology, Nitte. The FDP was sponsored by Intel and technically supported by Calligo Technologies, Bengaluru.
34 staff members from different institutions and streams participated in the program.
The program was formally inaugurated by the Chief Guest, Sri. Rajaraman Subramanian, Co-founder & Technical Director, Calligo Technologies, Bengaluru in the presence of Sri. Pranav from Calligo Technologies, Bengaluru and other dignitaries of NMAMIT. During his session, Sri Rajaraman Subramanian spoke about Artificial Intelligence (AI) and its importance in the current era. He also explained about end-to-end AI stack. An interactive session was held soon after the guest lecture was delivered.
The second session on Machine Learning (ML) was handled by Sri. Pranav from Calligo Technologies. He described the practical aspects of Machine Learning. He demonstrated it with a few sample programs. Many real time examples were explained by the speaker. This was followed by an interaction session.
The third session on Deep Learning (DL) was also handled by Sri. Pranav. He explained about Artificial Neural Network (ANN) with a few practical examples of DL. He concluded the session by enlightening the gathering about the Calligo Intelligent Data Analytics Platform features, optimization techniques, Intel Distribution of Python and Data Analytic Acceleration Library (DAAL) Dr. Niranjan Chiplunkar, Principal, NMAMIT presided over the function. Dr. Rekha Bhandarkar, Professor & Head, Dept. of E&C was the Convener. Ms. Anusha compered the program and Dr. Veena Devi S V, Professor, Dept. of E&C presented the invocation. Ms. Anusha R, Asst. Professor rendered the Vote of thanks.
Participation certificates were issued to the participants.
The FDP was coordinated by Organizing Secretary, Dr. Krishnananda Shet and Joint- Organizing Secretary, Dr. Subramanya Bhat, Associate Professors, Dept. of E&C.
