AICS CONFERENCE - 2019

The annual conference of AICS (Association of ICSE and CBSE Schools of Udupi and Dakshina Kannada districts) was hosted by Dr MRSM English Medium High School at K S Hegde Auditorium, KSHEMA Campus, Deralakatte, Mangaluru on 8th & 9th November, 2019. Principals and senior teachers from 65 member schools across the twin districts of Udupi and Dakshina Kannada attended this educational conference. This two-day conference revolved around the theme 'Decoding the 21st Century Educational Needs - Curriculum, Challenges and Choices’ and many other sub themes corresponding to it. The conference was inaugurated by Sri N Vinaya Hegde, Chancellor, Nitte University & President, Nitte Education Trust by unveiling the conference logo. In his address he highlighted the responsibilities of teachers in carrying forward the torch of education for enlightenment. The host Principal, Mrs Shreelatha Rao welcomed the gathering and Ms Jessy Andrews, Secretary of AICS proposed the vote of thanks. The delegates availed the opportunity of listening to the eminent speakers who shared their knowledge on this huge platform. The following were the speakers and their topics:

Keynote address: Dr Valson Thampu, Former Principal, St Stephen's College, New Delhi

Experiential Learning: Dr Vasanthi Thiagarajan, Principal, Sishya School, Hosur

Preparedness of teachers towards the changing educational scenario: Mr Praveen Kumar Sayyaparaju, Deputy CEO, SVYM

Child Safety - Everyone's Responsibility: Prof. Dr Vrinda Bhat Kamath, Forensic Medicine & Toxicology, Srinivas Institute of Medical Sciences & Research Centre, Mangaluru.

Moulding Behaviour - Robust, Dynamic and Controlled: Dr Meera Krishnappa, Managing Director, SHEETAL.

Upholding Integrity and Ethics: Prof Mathew C Ninan, Little Rock Indian School, Brahmavar.

Primary Education: Stepping into a world of possibilities: Dr (Flt. Lt) M A Balasubramanya, Secretary SVYM.
