NUCSER conducts industry visits for PG students

Nitte University Centre for Science Education & Research (NUCSER) organized an industrial visit to 4 local industries in & around Mangalore: Blue Moon Bottling Company - OxyeBlue, SRR Masala, ACE Foods and Modern Kitchens Pvt. Ltd. for the postgraduate students of Food Safety & Biotechnology and Microbiology on 9th June 2022. Among these four industries, three are involved in manufacture of spices/condiments/confectionary items and one is into packaged drinking water production.

During the visit, the students were given thorough insights into the entire manufacturing process adopted by these industries, including the quality control facilities dealing with microbiological and chemical parameters. The students were divided into batches and they were explained about the production lines followed in each type of industry. The Managers were extremely cooperative with the students and they were gracious enough to explain every minute detail of the production process. 

It was an eventful learning experience for the students, that allowed them to translate the theoretical knowledge of various protocols & practices taught in classrooms and how they are being applied in the industries.
