News from NUCSER | Orientation program for Freshers of 2024

The orientation program for newly inducted students enrolled for the various postgraduate programs of NUCSER (Biomedical Science, Food Safety & Biotechnology, Microbiology, Biotechnology, Cancer Biology and Marine Biotechnology) was held on 16th August 2024 at the University Auditorium, Paneer campus.

Prof (Dr) Anirban Chakraborty, Director, NUCSER, introduced the dignitaries and delivered the welcome address. He congratulated the students on selecting NUCSER and explained how NUCSER is involved in creating quality researchers through these PG programs. The chief guest Dr. Prasad B Shetty, CoE, Nitte University emphasized the importance concept-based learning at the postgraduation level.

Presiding over the function, Prof. (Dr) MS Moodithaya, Vice-Chancellor, Nitte University emphasized that developing a strong sense of self-belief and resilience is crucial for achieving success in their careers. He encouraged students to come out of their comfort zones to build the skills and confidence necessary to thrive in their professional lives.

Dr Ramya Harsha, IQAC Coordinator, proposed the vote of thanks. Dr. Akshatha Kotian, Asst. Professor, compered the formal function. After the formal function, at the in-house orientation in NUCSER, Col. B S Ghivari (Retd), Asst. Director (Student Affairs), addressed the parents and the newly admitted students on the hostel facilities and other amenities available in the campus. Prof. Chakraborty, presented details about the institute, the program structure, semester details, commencement of examinations, rules & regulations and other details pertaining to the course. Dr. Biswajit Maiti, Dr. Deekshit, Dr. Praveen Rai, Dr. Juliet Mohanraj and Dr. Akshath US, faculty of NUCSER, briefed the gathering on the academic activities, anti-ragging policy, student activities, activities of Committee against substance-abuse, attendance monitoring system, activities of the Placement and Career Guidance Cell. Ms. Varsha Shetty, PhD Scholar shared the details of the Alumni Association activities.
