The Centre for Environment, Fisheries & Aquaculture Science (CEFAS) organized a meeting with the team of investigators from NUCSER at the Taj Palace Hotel, New Delhi on 17th October 2024 to discuss the progress of the ongoing project “CEFAS24-29: Whole Genome Sequencing of Streptococcus Agalactiae Serotypes in Indian Aquatic Systems”, under the Ocean Country Partnership Program (OCPP), and to explore future collaboration opportunities. The NUCSER delegation comprised Dr. Akhila DS, Asst. Professor; Dr. Krishna Kumar B, Assoc. Professor; Dr. Indrani Karunasagar, Director, DST-Tec; Dr. Praveen Rai, Assoc. Professor and Dr. Deekshit, Assoc. Professor. The investigators provided a comprehensive update on the CEFAS project's progress, highlighting key advancements achieved to date. The CEFAS representatives, Dr. Wendy A Higman, Director, International Centre of Excellence for Seafood Safety and Animal & Human Health International Engagement Lead; Prof. (Dr) David Bass and Dr. Chantelle Hooper, shared updates on their activities at the Centre. They also expressed appreciation for the progress made on the project and showed interest in expanding future collaborations with NUCSER.
