NUCSER, in collaboration with Nikon India Ltd. and Bio Genics Lifecare, Bengaluru conducted a 2-day workshop on Confocal Microscopy on 16th & 17th October 2024. Prof. (Dr) Anirban Chakraborty, Director, NUCSER welcomed the participants and introduced the resource persons, Mr. Mahavir Singh Tanwar & Mr. Rohit Kumar Singh from Nikon India and Mr. Chandrashekar B from Bio Genics Lifecare. In his opening remarks, Dr. Anirban emphasized the significance of the workshop in advancing modern biological imaging techniques.
Mr. Tanwar conducted the workshop with an insightful session on the fundamentals of confocal microscopy, covering the core principles, optical configurations and applications of the technology in biological research. Following this, the participants engaged in a series of hands-on demonstrations, working with biological models such as cell lines, organoids, Drosophila and Zebrafish.
Fifty-five participants including students, research scholars and faculty of Nitte University participated in the workshop to strengthen their skills in advanced microscopy, covering microscope setup, high-resolution imaging and data interpretation for their research.
