News from NIA | A team of Semester 4 students of NIA presented their research "Energy Efficiency and Sustainability of Vernacular Architecture of Kodagu" at Metagreen Dimensions 4.0

A team of 4th semester students from Nitte Institute of Architecture - Abdul Hameed Atuf, Aman Ameer Ahmed, Mohammed Shahal Abdul Khader, Nandana Nisha, Pratham S M and Sweedal Felcita Dsouza presented their research "Energy Efficiency and Sustainability of Vernacular Architecture of Kodagu" at Metagreen Dimensions 4.0, under the guidance of Ar. Malhar Avinash Pansare. Their study explored Ainmane, the ancestral homes of Kodagu, using energy modeling to compare their cooling performance with modern buildings, showcasing the relevance of vernacular architecture in sustainable design. This conference was organised by the College of Architecture Trivandrum (CAT), Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala. The presentation was appreciated for its clarity by a distinguished jury, including Dr. Ardeshir Mahadavi (Graz University of Technology, Austria), Dr. Himanshu Burte (IIT Bombay) and Dr. Christiane Berger (Aalborg University, Denmark).

A special highlight - Nandana Nisha was recognized as the youngest author at the conference.
