The Dr. KR Shetty Centre for Tulu Studies, Nitte (DU) and NUCSER jointly organised the Matrubhasha Divas and Bharatiya Bhasha Utsav on 3rd March 2025, at the University Auditorium, Paneer Campus.
Prof. (Dr) Anirban Chakraborty, Director, NUCSER, delivered the welcome address. Chief guest Ms. Anitha Naik, Founder of Tulasi Tulu Koota in California & Director of the All-American Tulu Association, was felicitated for her contributions to preserving linguistic heritage. In her acceptance speech, Ms. Naik shared her insights about the importance of such linguistic associations.
Dr. Nagesh Prabhu, Director (CD), delivered the presidential address, emphasising the significance of NEP 2020 and the inclusion of Indian languages and their impact on education. Mr. Amey S Bellare, Student Coordinator and NEP Sarathi, concluded the formal proceedings with a heartfelt vote of thanks.
One of the key highlights of the event was the students' presentations in their mother tongues, promoting cultural appreciation. A book exhibition showcasing a diverse collection of literature, including Tulu translations by Dr. Sayeegeetha, Coordinator of the Centre for Tulu Studies was organized.
