The Student Innovation Club of NUCSER, in collaboration with the Institute Innovation Council of Nitte (DU), successfully organised "Innovation Showcase 2025" on 26th February 2025 at NUCSER. The event provided a platform for students to exhibit their innovative projects and research findings, emphasizing the potential value of their products in the market.
Prof. (Dr.) Anirban Chakraborty delivered the opening remarks and introduced the guests to the students. He emphasized the importance of fostering an innovative culture, encouraging students to engage in research & entrepreneurship and highlighted the event's objectives. Chief guest, Dr. Arun M Isloor, highlighted India’s thriving entrepreneurial landscape, emphasizing the impact of Startup India in fostering innovation and job creation. He stressed the importance of interdisciplinary research & collaboration in driving innovation and solving complex challenges. Guest of honor, Mr. Vishwas U S, spoke about the importance of entrepreneurship, startup incubation and industry-academia collaboration. He highlighted how startups play a key role in job creation and economic growth while stressing the need for continuous institutional and financial support to sustain this momentum. Prof. Parameswaran, Director- IIC presented a unique perspective by drawing an analogy between Lord Shiva’s attributes and the innovation process. He explained how transformation, introspection, balance and visionary thinking are crucial in innovation.
Students actively participated in showcasing their innovative projects, presenting ideas that had the potential to bring about real-world impact. The judging panel evaluated the projects based on originality, feasibility and scalability. The first prize was awarded to Vegan Meat - Sinchana Sharma. The second prize went to Shivangi Rai, Amey Bellare, Atyty Tep and Riya D Souza for Chirata-Based Gummies: A Remedy for Diabetes and the third prize was secured by Zaheeda Parveen Shaikh for an innovative sauce made from Bilimbi fruit. These awards served as motivation for students to continue their pursuit of innovation.
