The Department of General Medicine, KS Hegde Medical Academy, in collaboration with Mediora - The Undergraduate Medicine Club, successfully organized "BreakOut", a medicine-themed escape room on 20th June 2026 at the Skill Lab, KSHEMA.
An innovative clinical escape room competition was conducted for MBBS students and interns. Following a preliminary screening, 25 students were selected and divided into five multidisciplinary teams, promoting peer learning and collaboration across different MBBS years. The event emphasized teamwork, communication, leadership, time management and clinical reasoning while integrating concepts from multiple disciplines of the MBBS curriculum. Certificates and prizes were awarded to the winners. BreakOut highlighted the value of gamification and simulation-based learning in medical education, providing students with an enjoyable, interactive and academically enriching experience.
