Independence Day celebrations - MRSMEMHS
Independence day was observed on the 15th August 2016, by classes Play school to 10. The chief guest of the day was Colonel Nitte Gutthu Sharath Bhandary, Mangaluru . He spoke on the sacrifices made by the freedom fighters to attain freedom He asked the students to inculcate good values. Mr. Yadav Devadiga, the PTA president expressed his views. Oshin Viola D’souza of class IV spoke on the importance of the day. Rynal D’souza of class – X welcomed the gathering..Glen Jovin D’souza , class-IX proposed the Vote of thanks.The programme was anchored by Ms. Shruthi Shrikar of Class X.

Krishna Janmashtami Celebration - MRSMEMHS
Krishna Janmashtami , the birthday of Lord Krishna was celebrated with great devotion and enthusiasm on the 23nd August 2016, The guest of the day was Mr. Yadav Devadiga, the PTA president. Fancy dress on muddu Krishna was organized for the pre-school children. Senior students given variety entertainment.

15th graduation ceremony - NIMLS - KSHEMA
The 15th graduation ceremony of Nitte Institute of Medical Laboratory Sciences was held on 5th August 2016 at Lecture Hall No. 5, K.S.Hegde Medical Academy. Prof. C.S. Shastri, Principal, NGSMIPS was the chief guest of the evening. Dr. Satheesh Kumar Bhandary.B, Dean, K.S.Hegde Medical Academy was presided over the function. Thirteen students were graduated in the ceremony. The welcome address was delivered by Dr. Rekha Rai, Co-ordinator and vote of thanks by Dr. Sukanya Shetty, Prof.& HOD of Biochemistry.

AZAADI 70 CELEBRATION - NUCSER
NUCSER celebrated Azaadi 70 on 23rd August in a befitting manner with active participation from the faculty and the students focusing on the theme of Yaadkaro Qurbani . The celebration started with rendition of the national anthem at 11:00 AM followed by a short cultural program.
The director of the centre, Dr. Indrani Karunasagar reminded the students about the freedom struggle and the sacrifices made by the thousands of martyrs who have laid down their lives during the Independence movement. She also emphasised on the need for us to understand our responsibilities in protecting and using our freedom with care. On this occasion, the students and the faculty members sang patriotic songs and participated in pencil sketching on life and history of icons of freedom struggle

The Independence Day Celebrations at KSHMEA Campus started with Flag hoisting by the Chief Guest, Prof. (Dr.) N Sridhar Shetty, Director, CADSS and Founder Dean followed by Cultural Program. Each of the Constituent College performed a dance and a Skit relating to Independence Day. Prof.(Dr.) U.S.Krishna Nayak, Principal and Dean welcomed the gathering. Prof.Dr.M.S.Moodithaya, Registrar of the University and Heads of Various Constituent Colleges graced the occasion. The program was attended and well appreciated by more than 600 Students and Staff of Various Constituent Colleges of Nitte University.

Swachh Bharath slogan competition - NUINS
NSS unit of Nitte Usha Institute of Nursing Sciences organized a Swachh Bharat Slogan competition at Nitte Usha Institute of Nursing Sciences on 23-08-2016 between 9.00 am to 12.00 pm. Total 5 NSS Volunteers from different class actively participated in the programme. It was a good opportunity for all of them to take Participation in doing such activity.

“Azaadi70” celebrations - NGSMIPS
As a solemn gesture to express solidarity with the nation on the occasion of “Azaadi70” celebrations, an essay competition was held on the theme “My Country, My Responsibility”. The principal addressed the staff and the students. He reminded the gathering of the pain, and hardships faced by the millions of freedom fighters and the selfless sacrifices they made. He said that it is our bounden duty and responsibility to uphold the spirit of freedom and nationalism and embrace the philosophy of “country before self”. This is the only way we could pay tribute to the martyrs and preserve the integrity, diversity and culture of our great nation. The program was concluded with the singing of the national anthem exactly at the stroke of 11 am to be in synchrony with the entire nation.
Inter-class Sports - NSAMFGC - Bengaluru
“Healthy body is the abode of a healthy mind.” Sports play a vital role in the physical and mental development of students. Keeping this in mind, the Sports department of Dr. NSAM FGC and PUC organized an inter-class competition for boys on July 27, 2016. Three were matches in three games --- Cricket, Volleyball and Football. III B.Com ‘B’ emerged as the winners of the football match and I B.Com ‘C’ won the Cricket match. The volleyball match ended in a tie. Students zealously participated in these games and cheered with great enthusiasm for their classmates.

Mass singing of the National Anthem
This is one of the programs in connection with this year's independence day celebration under the theme"yaad karoKurbaani" to mark the 70th independence day and 75th anniversary of Quit India Movement. Yaad Karo Kurbaani is a fortnight long celebration through out the nation , from 9th to 23rd August. The Govt has appealed to every Indian to celebrate this in a unique manner in remembrances of the freedom fighters who laid down their lives for the sake of independence and events like jallianwala bagh massacre, dandi march etc. The UGC has issued a circular based on this and so it is not actually an initiative of the UGC
Rendezvous 2K16 - SAROSH
The Sarosh Institute of Hotel Administration, Mangalore, a unit of Nitte Education Group conducts a Four year Bachelor's Degree Program, in Hotel Management and is affiliated to Mangalore University and approved by All India Council for Technical Education, New Delhi. Our college has also got the distinction of being the only NAAC accredited BHM College in Mangalore. As part of its corporate social responsibility, the college has been extending its support and service to under privilege and also to society at large. in the 24 years since its inception, our college has being grooming aspiring hospitality professionals and inspiring the student to be spirited, innovative and socially responsible individuals.
The event was conducted under the guidance of Ms. Veda J Rai, Sr. Lecturer and the able leadership of Mr. Gaurav, Student Coordinator of the event.
Rendezvous 2K16 the annual inter-collegiate event started in 2004 and has seen the participation of hundreds of students from different colleges across Karnataka state. This year the students came up with the theme "Mind's Meet". The event was hosted for PUC and Degree students from all over Mangalore on 17th August 2016. 19 Degree Colleges and 5 PU Colleges participated in 13 events.
St Aloysius College emerged as the Overall Winners and S.D.M College as the Overall Runners-up in the Degree Level and St Aloysius P U College as the Overall Winners and Sharada P U college as the Overall Runners-up in the P U Section.
The event was inaugurated by Professor & Dr. U S Krishna Nayak, Dean & Principal of A B Shetty Memorial Institute of Dental Science, Derlakatte. In the morning session events were Best Manager, Flower Arrangement, Face Painting, Mystery Box, Cocktail Making & Mocktail Making, and in the afternoon session Mad Ads, Photography, Quiz, Dumb Charades for both the Degree & PUC level.
The most popular events as usual was the Best Manager which grilled the participant through four different rounds.
The Valedictory function was presided by Mr. Ivan D’souza, MLC and Chief whip in Karnataka Legislative Council in the evening, he appreciated the students for organizing the event and gave away the prizes to the winners.
Besides participating in various competitions, the participants along with other invitees also enjoyed the hospitality offered by the Sihaites. The 3rd semester BHM students prepared & served a variety of delicious food items and snacks on the day.
