CNE On Monitoring of Critically ILL Patients - NUINS

As a part of silver jubilee academic activities, the department of Medical Surgical Nursing, NUINS in collaboration with ALUMNI association organized a CNE on “Monitoring of critically ill patients” on 28-09-2017, between 10.30AM to 12.30 pm. Mrs. Shambavi, Associate Professor, Laxmi Memorial College of Nursing and the ALUMNUS of NUINS the resource person for the CNE extensively deliberated on the topic with practical examples.

World Pharmacist’s day 2017 - NGSMIPS

“From Research to healthcare: your pharmacist is at your service”, the theme for this year‘s World Pharmacists day emphasizes the growing need for assistance by pharmacists sought by the health care delivery system indicating that the pharmacists role is complementary to the medical profession and not in competition and that today’s pharmacist has not remained just a “pill-vendor” but has become an integral part of the healthcare delivery system.

To drive home this message to the public, a rally was organized by NGSM Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Deralakatte, Managlore on 25 September, 2017. Over 700 students participated in the rally which was flagged off by the principal Dr. C.S. Shastry.

Presiding on the function, Dr. Ramanand Shetty, Vice Chancellor, Nitte University informed the students that there was huge scope for research in the field of pharmaceutical science and advised the students to develop a keen interest to pursue the field of research targeted towards wellness of the society. Dr. C.S. Shastry, Principal, NGSM Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences briefed the significance of the pharmacist day. Shri Ramakanth Kunte, Asst. Drugs Controller I, Mangalore and Shri Shankara Naik, Asst. Drugs Controller II, Mangalore, Major(Dr.) Shivakumar Hiremath, Medical Superintendent, Justice K.S.Hegde Charitable Hospital were the Guests of honour. Shri Kunte and Shri Naik gave an account of the functioning of drug administration and the steps taken by the government to eradicate the spurious drugs from the market. Eminent pharmacists Shri. Manaohar S. Shetty, CMD Sai Radha Groups and Shri. Panduranga Rao, Senior Pharmacist, Mangalore were felicitated on this occasion for the exemplary social and professional contribution made by them. Dr. R. Narayana Charyulu, Vice Principal proposed the vote of thanks and Ms. Avril Mathias anchored the programme.










ISRO Space Exhibition - NMAMIT

Karkala: “We Indians must be proud of the remarkable achievements by our own inventions in the field of Space. It’s really happy to say that we are the only country to accomplish Mission Mars in the first attempt” said Mr.Guruprasad, Public Relations Executive, ISRO, Bengaluru.

Speaking after inaugurating ISRO Space Exhibition & series of Technical Talk held on Wednesday, 27th September, 2017 organised by the Department of Electronics & Communication, NMAM Institute of Technology, Nitte in association with ISRO. Sri.Guruprasad said that the goals can be achieved with the minimum available resource if the planning is strong. Perseverance is very much essential to achieve success. He appreciated the efforts of the management of NMAM Institute of Technology in organising this event.

Dr.Niranjan N Chiplunkar, Principal of NMAM Institute of Technology in his presidential remarks expressed his concern about the less number of students who are opting Space research as their carrier. High School Students should be given proper guidance about the opportunities in the field of Space research. Programmes like this are rarely organised by institutions. Students from neighbouring schools and colleges should get benefitted out of these kind of programmes’ he added.

Dr.RekhaBhandarkar, HOD of E&C, convener of the programme welcomed the gathering. Dr.KVSSSS Sairam briefed about the two day space exhibition. Mrs. Sunitha Lasrado introduced the Chief Guest. Dr.Ananth A G, Organising Secretary of the exhibition delivered vote of thanks. Student Jane Claudia Mathias compered the programme.

Mr.Ashok Adyanthaya inaugurated the Space Exhibition by cutting the ribbon.

A demonstration of rocket launching was done by Sri Guruprasad from ISRO. Students from neighbouring colleges and sister institutes were present. It was a water rocket built using a coke bottle which was aerodynamically stable and it’s centre of gravity was concentrated at the extreme front.

The exhibition mainly aimed at displaying the journey of ISRO. Display of 10 satellite models made of brass, Video displays and also colour panels showing the journey of ISRO in space were the main attraction.

A guest lecture on “Clinical Research and Data Management” was organized by the Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry on 23rd September 2017. The Guest lecture was delivered by Mr. Kripesh Krishnan, Associate Director, Clinical Data Management, QuintilesIMS Bangalore. The Principal, Dr. C. S. Shastry introduced the speaker and welcomed the gathering. The principal said, he takes pride in introducing Mr. Kripesh as he is an alumnus of the college and has made his alma mater proud of his achievement which is a result of hard work and dedication in the chosen field. He also invited Quintiles to be a part of institutional development process. Dr. Narayana Charyulu, Vice Principal and HOD, Department of pharmaceutics briefed about the objectives of the guest lecture.

K S Hegde Medical Academy Girls Volleyball and Table tennis teams won the Championship with the Cash prize of rupees 10,000 and 5,000 respectively Ms. Nishitha Rai Awarded as best TT player of the Tournament. Boys Volleyball team won the Runner up Trophy with the Cash prize of rupees 7,000 in South India level inter Medics Sports tournament Organized by Sri Devaraj Urs Medical College Kolar from 13th to 15th September 2017.

Rural It Quiz Champs - NSAMEMHS, Nitte

Two teams of 4 students Harshith Shetty and Tejaswi of class 9 and Anish Joisy and Srinivas Pai of class 8 participated in the Rural IT quiz conducted by TCS at Udupi and are qualified for the zonals to be held in the month of October at Mysore.

Volley ball and throw ball match - NSAM PUC, Bengaluru

We, at Dr. NSAM PU College believe that “Sports do not build character. They reveal it". Final Volley Ball and Throw Ball matches were held on 15-9-17 between II Comm. I Comm. B section boys and I science and II science girls. The match was inaugurated by Dr. Shanthi Iyer, Principal, FGC, and Ms. Chithra S.P, PU Principal. I PU Commerce B boys emerged winners of Volley Ball match and II PU Science girls emerged winners of Throw Ball match.
