The Women’s Cell of Nitte Institute of Physiotherapy organized the International Women’s Day celebrations on 8th March, 2018 at Patanjali Yoga Hall, NIPT.
The program began with the invocation prayer by Ms. Saayli, IV BPT. Prof. Dr. Dhanesh Kumar K U, Principal, NIPT welcomed the gathering. The Chief guest, Prof. Dr. Prasanna Kumar Shetty, Unit Head, Dept. of OBG & In-charge, IVF Centre,KSHEMA inaugurated the program and delivered the keynote address. He spoke on the significance of celebrating women’s day & emphasized on the need of breaking the stereotype and empowering women.
The resource speaker, Dr. Sharon Rasquinha, Assoc. Professor, Dept. of OBG, KSHEMA delivered a talk on “Women’s health & menstrual hygiene” Mrs. Suchetha P.S, Co-ordinator, Women’s cell, NIPT delivered the Vote of thanks. The faculty, undergraduate and postgraduate students of NIPT attended the program. The master of the ceremony was Ms. Grace Y.S , IV BPT
A drawing competition was conducted as part of Women’s day celebration with the objective of sensitizing the students on prevention of female feticide. The theme for the drawing competition was “Save the girl child” in which a total of 17 students have participated.
