Children’s Day celebration - NUINS

As part of the Children’s Day celebration, the Department of Child Health Nursing, NUINS in collaboration with the Department of Ophthalmology, KSHEMA organized an ophthalmic screening camp at Dakshina Kannada Composite Govt School, New Padpu on 16th November 2019. The program was conducted under the guidance of Prof. Sujatha. R, Head, Department of Child Health Nursing, NUINS assisted by faculty members Mrs. Harsha Thomas and Mrs. Jeevitha Alva, 4 GNM students and 4 faculty members from the Department of Ophthalmology, KSHEMA. 50 school children underwent eye check up at the camp. The screening program started at 10.30 am by collecting a brief health history of each child. 2 children were identified with minor eye problems and referred to the hospital for further follow up.

At the end of the program the children were gifted a pen kit along with refreshments.
