News from NIPT | International Women’s Day

The Women’s Cell of Nitte Institute of Physiotherapy celebrated International Women’s Day on 8th March 2025. Prof. (Dr) Dhanesh Kumar K U, Principal, NIPT welcomed the gathering. Chief guest Dr. Mithra N Hegde, Principal, ABSMIDS mentioned the importance of women’s day and the various roles held by women in society. Guest of Honour Prof. (Dr) Indrani Karunasagar, Director (Projects & NuTEC), Nitte University spoke about the various challenges faced by women in their daily life and motivated the students to chase their dreams. A session on self-defense “Shreeraksha: Measures to Women Safety” was conducted for the students & staff, by Mr. Karthik S Kateel and Smt. Shobhalatha, Founder of Swaraksha for Women Trust. Prof. (Dr) Indrani Karunasagar was felicitated by the dignitaries, on this occasion for her contribution in the field of research. Ms. Nishitha Elsy Fernandes compered the event. The vote of thanks was delivered by Dr. Mahima R Banjan, Convener of the program.
