A three-day workshop titled ‘Empowering Pre-University Educators: Integrating STEM Excellence in Teaching Pedagogy’ organized by the Dept. of Artificial Intelligence & Data Science, in collaboration with the IEEE Student Branch of NMAMIT was inaugurated on 9th September by Dr. Vasudeva, Chair of the IEEE Mangalore Sub Section. This workshop was funded by the IEEE STEM grant.
The workshop aimed to strengthen STEM teaching methodologies for pre-university educators, helping them integrate advanced teaching techniques in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) education.
Dr. Vasudeva emphasized the crucial role of Science and Mathematics in the evolution of technology. He emphasized that these fundamental subjects form the foundation for technological advancements, and it is through this scientific knowledge that engineering solutions are developed.
Dr. Niranjan Chiplunkar, Principal, NMAMIT presided over the event. He underlined the growing importance of STEM education in today's world, stating that the current era demands a deeper focus on these subjects to meet the evolving challenges of various industries.
Dr. Venugopala PS, HoD, AI&DS and Convenor of the workshop welcomed the gathering. Mr. Praveen M Naik, Asst. Professor Gd.II, AI&DS delivered the vote of thanks. Dr. Ankitha K, Asst. Professor Gd-III, AI&DS was the master of ceremony.
