School Health Program - NUINS

SCHOOL HEALTH PROGRAME Dept. Of Community Health Nursing, Nitte Usha Institute of Nursing Sciences, Constituent College of Nitte University along with 4 th Year B.sc Nursing Students conducted School Health Program at Kalya High School, Karkalla on 31/10/2014 at 2.30pm. After the formal program, final year B.Sc Nursing students performed role play followed by health education on menstrual hygiene and balanced diet for Adolescent Children. Sr.Leena and group performed interesting skit followed by Health Education given by Ms.Divya,Ms.Dyslin,Ms.Reshma and Ms. Roshini. Health assessment was done and height and weight of the students were checked and B.M.I calculated. Inferences were recorded and founded that out of 130 students, 97 students are underweight. The results were reported to the school authority for further action. Blood grouping of the students (those who are unaware of their blood group) were performed by Mr.Prakesh, Lab Technician, Nitte CHC and informed. Mr.Vallesh R Shetty & Mr.Jince V John, Lecturers, Dept. of Community Health Nursing was given guidance for the program.
