Activities at NSAM English Medium school Nitte

Leadership Camp 
Our 4 students of class VIII –m Nidhi, Pragathi, Wilton, Nishan, attended Spoorthi a Leadership Camp organised by Sharadha Vidyalaya at Talapady accompanied with their teacher Shree Mudradi.

Student Activity : An Awareness Program
On 1st December, World Aids Day class VIII & IX students were given an awareness talks on AIDS by Srivalli H and Anil Kumar.

Workshops
Resource Persons from Ramakrishna Ashram, Bailur conducted a workshop on Personality Development for class X on 3rd Jan. Stress & Fear management for class X on 5th Jan, 2015 and Examination Preparation on 20th Feb for class IX.

Radio Program 
Class VII students under the training of Mrs. Jayanthi Suvarna had 2 radio recordings on 16/01/2015 at A.I.R. Mangalore. The topics were Children's Right to Education and Lokhada Bolpu. It was aired on 31st Jan, 2015.

School Band Set : Our Band set children had the good fortune of rendering their services on 16th Jan for the March Past at the National Level Inter University Athletic Meet held at the new synthetic ground at Moodabidri.

Rewards for 'I CAN' : 
The two winning teams of a unique Project Called 'I CAN' received a hamper of 'Amar Chithra Katha books from the organisers, River Side School Ahmedabad. The school received cheques of Rs. 5000/- for each winning team.


External Exams: In the Chinthana Maths Puraskar one of our student Sachin S Shenoy of class II secured a National Level Rank. Other State, District and Taluk Level Medals were also distributed to several students on 17/2/2015.

Scouts & Guides Trekking: Our Scouts & Guides on 6th Feb. 2015, went out on a trek with their Scouts & Guide teachers - Shree Mudradi & Shashipal Hegde and Sujatha Devadiga. The steep climb using ropes at places took them an hour and half. But hoisting the flag at the top of the mountain gave them immense satisfaction. A competition of Cooking without Fire was also held. Creative ideas came up.


Submission of Projects:
6 teams of our school in class VIII worked for 3 months in 2014.15 for their Nitte Hutchie Challenge Project, on one of the Millennium Global Topics - "Climatic Change, Man Responsible" after having researched, analysed, created awareness in local areas, documented and finally submitted their Project to the Hutchie Team when they recently visited Nitte from 9th Feb to 14th Feb 2015. These Projects will be assessed by our Partner School in Scotland and the winning team receive an all paid weeklong visit to Glasgow.

Farewell:
We bid Adieu to our class X (2014-15) batch on 14th Feb. Our Special Guests on the occasion were our Scottish friends from Hutchesons' Grammar School, Scotland. Fun games, a farewell gift of a clock, signifying Time and Tide Waits for None was given and a sumptuous lunch was served. The Principal Mrs. Neeta Kishore’s Farewell Message through a story highlighted the importance of being dynamic and not static in life.
