First All India Peoples Medical and Health Science Convention - 2015

Nitte University in association with Peoples Council of Education is organizing the First All India Peoples Medical and Health Science Convention at its from 5th to 7th February, 2015. The focal theme is ‘Medical and Health Science Education System in India: The Emerging Paradigms’.

The Convention will be inaugurated by Justice M.N. Ventatchaliah, Retired Chief Justice of Supreme Court on February 05, 2015 at 2.00 pm at K.S. Hegde Auditorium, Nitte University, Mangalore.

Dr. B.M. Hegde, former Vice-Chancellor, Manipal university & Chairman, National Academic Advisory Committee and Prof. Tapas Bhattacharya, Chairman, Core Group will l deliver keynote address. Prof. P.K. Yadav, the President of the Peoples Council of Education will deliver the Presidential Address.

Sri N. Vinaya Hegde, Chancellor of the Nitte University will address the inaugural session.

There will be 7 plenaries, 4 Panel discussions and 3 special lectures on issues related to Medical and Health Science Education. Eminent scholars like Prof. M.S. Valiathan, Prof. M.G. Deo, Prof. Darshan Shankar shall be speaking at the Convention. Prof. Rima E. Laibow from USA too shall be addressing the Convention.

The Convention is aimed at developing a systemic understanding of Medical and Health Science Education System in India. It is first of its kind in the history of Medical and Health Science in India and, is designed to discover, develop and disseminate a new democratic and scientific Medical and Health Science Education System in consonance with the democratic social needs and democratic aspirations and creative urges of people of Democratic Republic of India.

Sri. D .R. Kaarthikeyan, former Director of the CBI will be the chief guest of the valedictory function which will be held on 7th February at 6.00 pm at the Nitte University Paneer Campus Auditorium. Sri N. Vinaya Hegde, Chancellor of Nitte University will address the valedictory session.
