The Department of Community Medicine organized a CME / Symposium, "CME on Vector Borne Diseases" from 25-07-2015 to 25-07-2015 at K.S. Hegde Medical Academy.
A CME Vector borne disease was conducted by the Department of Community Medicine, KSHEMA on 25-07-2015 as a part of the Intercollegiate Academic Programme for Post-graduates (IAPP) at Lecture hall no 5, KSHEMA. The CME was inaugurated by Dr Satheesh Kumar Bhandary, Dean, KSHEMA, Dr JayaPrakash Shetty, Registrar, KSHEMA, Dr Amrit Mirajkar, Vice-Dean, KSHEMA, Dr Ramakrishna, DHO, Mangalore, Dr N Udaya Kiran, Professor and Head, Dept. of Community Medicine, KSHEMA and the organizing chairman, Dr Sanjay Kini, Assistant Professor, Dept. of Community Medicine, KSHEMA and Organising Secretary. The resource persons were Dr. Ravikumar, former Regional Head, National Vector Borne Disease control programme, Govt. of Karnataka, Dr N Udaya Kiran, Professor and Head, Department of Community Medicine, KSHEMA Dr M Chakrapani, Associate Dean, KMC Mangalore, Dr Arun Kumar, District Malaria Officer, Mangalore. A poster competition was also conducted.This was followed by Panel discussion which was conducted by Dr Muralidhar Kulkarni, Associate Professor, Dept. of Community Medicine, KMC Manipal and the panelists were Dr Ravikumar, Dr Arun Kumar, Dr BL Samaga and Dr N Udaya Kiran. The last programme for the day was Quiz competition.
