School of Public Health visits Department of Public Health,Nitte University - MPH - KSHEMA

Senior Associate Dean from Minnesota University, School of Public Health visits Department of Public Health, Nitte University.

Prof. Beth Virnig, Senior Associate Dean (Faculty Affairs & Research), School of Pubic Health, Minnesota University, USA visited Nitte University Centre for Public Health Studies and its field areas in Dakshina Kannada & Udupi districts. She was accompanied by Mr. Joe Wiesenberger, Chief Administrator, Dr. Hitakshi Sehgal, Coordinator for Minnesota India programs, Dr. Sudeep Kumar, Head of the department, Public Health, Mr. Mackwin D’Mello, Assistant Professor, Mr. Prashant Santha, Coordinator for Project Interventions, Nitte University.

Prof. Virnig interacted with faculty and MPH scholars in the centre on possible collaborations in student exchange, faculty exchange, joint research collaborations in public health and on having national and international symposia & conferences. Team from Minnesota appreciated center’s initiative to have a long term cohort study of RMNCH+A cycle. All students from MPH program shared their dissertation studies which have been executed in India & Nepal. Faculty from Minnesota also wished a good learning experience when they visit Public Health Institute at Minnesota in May-June 2016. Prof. Beth also visited three levels of health care delivery services in Karkala, Bailur & Nitte along with field areas, and student facilities at Nitte Village. Prof. Beth and her colleagues were pleased to send their global health students (MPH) to Nitte University to study with Nitte Cohort of Mothers, newborns, infants, children and adolescents in future.
