Training Programme for Union Bank of India - NIBF

“Extend Banking Facility to the unreached “ Dr N K Thingalaya, former CMD of Syndicate Bank gave a clarion call to the newly joined employees of Union Bank Of India, who are undergoing two weeks Induction Program. Dr Thingalaya was presiding over the inaugural function of the Training program conducted by Nitte Educational International at their Nitte Campus. The training is being attended by nearly 400 employees of Union Bank Of India, who have joined the bank recently. Speaking further Dr Thingalaya stressed upon the need to extend courteous service to all customers as today the public sector banks are facing stiff competition. Dr Thingalaya also highlighted the plight of poor sections of the society who have been denied banking facilities over the years. He also opined that with right set of skills and attitude there is a good scope for career growth in banking sector today.

Sri A Viju Assistant General Manager, Union Bank of India, inaugurating the program talked about the rich heritage and history of the bank. He also informed that Union Bank Of India has been continuously making profits ever since its inception in 1919. He further added that as on March 2016 Union Bank Of India is one among the few banks who have made profits while many bigger banks have posted huge losses.



Sri Yogesh Hegde, Registrar Nitte Mahalinga Adyanthaya Memorial Institute of Technology, Chief Guest on the occasion called upon the participants to hone their banking skill continuously as the banking is undergoing changes day by day. Prof K R Nayak welcomed the gathering and Sri M S Rao proposed vote of thanks. Ms Sona Rai compered the program. Senior officials of Union Bank of India and faculty members of Nitte Education International were present on the occasion.
