The Department of Community Medicine organized a Public Awareness Program, "HEALTH EDUCATION PROGRAM " on 02-06-2016 at Epidemiological Unit KSHCH.
A health education program was conducted by the Department of Community Medicine, KSHEMA in the epidemiological unit of K S Hegde Hospital, Deralakatte, Mangalore on 02 June 2016 for Malayalam and Kannada patients. The theme of the program was Diabetes.
Around 10 people actively took part in the program. The Talks were delivered by Dr. Prince Alex, Dr. Shameena.A.U and Dr. Vidya R, First year post Graduates, under the guidance of Dr. N Udaya Kiran, Prof and HOD of Department of Community Medicine and with the cooperation of Mr. Santhosh N P medico social worker. The crowd was well educated regarding the necessity for early diagnosis of Diabetes and methods of prevention. The importance of early detection of Diabetes and adequate treatment were also taught to these individuals. Several Charts and Pictures were used during the Talk for easier understanding .Both Malayalam and Kannada talks were given. People were allowed to ask doubts at the end of the Talk.
