Medicines Sans Frontières (Doctors without Borders) is an international medical humanitarian organization with relief programmes worldwide, including India. MSF was awarded the 1999 Nobel Peace Prize for medical humanitarian work.

In K.S.Hegde we organized a presentation for raising awareness at our college, about “Doctors Without Borders”, with core objective of inviting medical professionals to volunteer for MSF. The speaker was Dr.Chandrika Ravindran who is Paediatric surgeon by profession and now a MSF volunteer.

The session was conducted in Justice K.S.Hegde Charitable hospital seminar hall on July 14th in presence of Vice Deans, Dr. Prakash.P.S, Dr. Amrith Mirajkar, Registrar Dr.JayaPrakash Shetty and Asst.MS.

More than 100 students attended and around 30 postgraduates and interns along with 20-30 staff and heads of department attended. It was a good session and students had a career options given to them.
The programme was co-ordinated by Dr.Rashmi Kundapur. The session was attended by career guidance cell co-ordinator Dr.Sukanya Shetty too.
