A visit to an old age home for destitute women in Belma was organized by the Department of Community Medicine, K S Hegde Medical Academy, Mangalore on 06.01.17. There were nearly 18 women in the home including 2 bed ridden patients. Post graduate students Dr. Shiny Nesan and Dr. Kavya with the cooperation of Mr. Santosh, medico - social worker conducted a general health checkup and counseling was given to the women regarding their health problems. Blood pressure was measured individually and CBG was measured using glucometer for the diabetic patients and necessary medicines were prescribed.
