The Department of Public Health organized a CME / Symposium, "INTERNATIONAL SYMPOSIUM ON UNIVERSAL HEALTH COVERAGE" on 08-04-2017 at KS Hegde medical auditorium academy. The conference was started at 9:30 am.The first talk for the day was on “UHC in India- Why, What and How?” by Dr. Giridar R. Babu, Additional Professor, Indian Institute of Public Health, Hyderabad, Bangalore Campus. The second speaker for the day was Dr. Saktivel selvaraj, Assistant Professor, Public Health Foundation, India who briefed about “Universal access to essential Medicines”.
The inaugural ceremony of the International conference was held at 11:00 am. Ms. Nancy Fobe (COO, International Co-operation, CM, Belgium) was the Chief guest for the function, Prof. Dr. M. Shantharam Shetty, Pro- Chancellor and Prof. Dr. S. Ramananda Shetty, Vice Chancellor, Nitte University were the guests of honour for the function. Prof. Dr. Satheesh Kumar Bhandary, Dean, KSHEMA; Prof. Dr. M.S Moodithaya, Registrar, Nitte University; Mr.Geert Basyn, International affairs, CM , Belgium; Dr. Sudeep Kumar, HOD, Department of Public Health were the other dignitaries on the dais.
