Nitte MPH Students Visiting Public Health Institute at Minnesota, USA - KSHEMA

Third batch of Master of Public Health (MPH) Students and faculty from Nitte University left to USA to participate in summer Institute at University of Minnesota, School of Public Health. Three of MPH students are taking up summer school for three weeks’ period from May 22nd 2017 to June 10th 2017. Dr Shilpa Devaraj, Mr. Bal Krishna Tamang & Ms. Samita Maharjan from Department of Public Health, K S Hegde Medical Academy got this opportunity of getting global exposure in the field of public health where they take additional capacity building on writing competitive grant proposals, project management, Global Food Systems, Use of Technology in Public Health Practice. Additional credits for their MPH programme is given as a part of student exchange program under MoU for student scholarships. Nitte University has Memorandum of Understanding with University of Minnesota for student exchange programme where students from Nitte visit Minnesota in Summer and Minnesota MPH students vising Mangaluru in every Winter. For facilitating the programme Mrs. Priyanka Rent, Assistant Professor, Department of Public Health from Nitte is also accompanying students. The Vice Chancellor, Registrar, Director (R & D) of Nitte University, Dean & Head of the Department of Public Health have congratulated this team on this global health exposure.
