Prof. (Dr.) N. Sridhar Shetty Annual Endowment Lecture - ABSMIDS

The 7th Annual Prof (Dr) N Sridhar Shetty Endowment lecture instituted by the Old students of ABSMIDS was held on 7th July (Friday) 2017 from 9.30 A.M. to 12.30 P.M at KSHEMA Auditorium, Deralakatte.

The master of the ceremony for the day Dr Amarshree Shetty welcomed the gathering with an introductory. The Green Life campaign started by A B Shetty Memorial Institute of Dental Sciences in association with the Go Green programme by Nitte University was the highlight of the event. Prof (Dr) Chethan Hegde the chairperson of Prof (DR) N. Sridhar Shetty Endowment Lecture Committee addressed the gathering and spoke on the uniqueness of the endowment lecture. Padma Vibhushan G Madhavan Nair former chairman ISRO Bengaluru, Chancellor Nitte University Sri N Vinaya Hegde, Pro chancellor Prof (Dr) M Shantharam Shetty, Vice-chancellor Nitte University Prof (Dr) S Ramananda Shetty, Prof. (Dr.) N Sridhar Shetty, Founder Dean and Director CADSS, Prof. (Dr.) U.S.Krishna Nayak, Principal and Dean, Senior Staffs, Heads of various Departments and Faculty members from various constituent colleges of Nitte University and other institutions were present on the occasion.

Dr Nithesh Shetty introduced the speaker for the day Padma Vibhushan G Madhavan Nair, Former ISRO Chairman, Bengaluru. Padma Vibhushan G Madhavan Nair is a highly acclaimed person in the field of Space Research & Technology. He enlightened the gathering regarding the importance of space research, telemedicine, teleconsultation and its role in future development of the country and health care setups. He also spoke about several missions and projects carried out by ISRO and stressed the importance of Mangalyaan which was followed by an interactive session. Prof (Dr) N. Sridhar Shetty expressed his gratitude towards the A B Shetty old student association and everybody gathered for this endowment lecture. The presidential address was delivered by Chancellor Nitte University Sri N Vinaya Hegde who stressed on the role and importance of satellite and its application in the field of education and medicine. He also urged for the need for the use of satellites for better advances in the field of agriculture. Prof (Dr) Shishir Shetty delivered the vote of thanks.
