Mangalore Urology Forum organized the 31st annual conference of Urological Association of Kerala at Lalit Resort, Bekal, Kasargod at 25th & 26th November 2017. The conference being inaugurated by Honorable Vice Chancellor of NITTE University, Prof. Dr. Satheesh Kumar Bhandary, who acknowledged the specialty of Urology for adhering to the moto of minimally invasive endoscopic surgery & for embracing the recent developments like robots in surgical technology.
Dr. H. Krishnamurthy, president of Urological Association of Kerala, presided over the function. Dr. G.G. Laxman Prabhu, Secretary of Association of Southern Urology & Dr. Ranjit Shetty, President Mangalore Urology Forum were the guest of honor. Dr. Mohan Chandra Suvarna, Organizing President of UAKON 2017 welcomed the gathering & Dr. Rajeev TP, Organizing Secretary proposed the vote of thanks. Dr. Venuchandran, Secretary of UAK distributed the merit awards on this occasion. The Academic program was enriched with guest lecturers, orations, deliberations by senior faculties & presentation of recent research work and case scenarios by Urology postgraduates.
A preconference workshop was organized on 24.11.2017 along with this conference by Department of Urology, K.S.Hegde Medical Academy, Nitte University, and the topic was “Masterclass in Percutaneous Nephrolithotomy” which was well attended.
