Society, Dept. of IT, BT and S&T, Government of Karnataka organized an event on "Poster Presentation Competition-2017" on 11th November 2017 at NMAM Institute of Technology, Nitte. Out of 75 business proposals received, 52 best business proposals were shortlisted for the presentation in the event "Start-up Pitch 2016", which was held on 15th November 2016 at NMAMIT, Nitte and 17 best business proposals were shortlisted in this event. The Students of this 17 business proposals had got an opportunity to attend the 48 Hours overnight "State level Hackathon 2017" conducted by Team "YourStory" in association with ICTSDS which was held at NIE, Mysore on 24th-25th Jan 2017. The 17 business proposals were refined through college level meetings and were sent to ICTSDS, Government of Karnataka. ICTSDS selected all the 17 business proposals sent to them for the next rounds of funding.
These 17 Business Proposal teams presented their posters. The event ‘Poster Presentation Competition-2017’ was organized with the objective to provide more innovative input for the student teams (17 selected Business proposals) from the Industry and Research expertise which helps students to complete their project successfully.
Mr. Pradeep Kumar Udupi, Vice President, Technology and Innovation, Robosoft Technology, Udupi and Prof. Prashanth Kumar Shetty, Associate Professor, School of Information Sciences, Manipal University, the proud alumni’s of NMAMIT, Nitte were chief guests and judges for the event. The event was presided by Dr. Niranjan N Chiplunkar, Principal, NMAMIT, Nitte. And the event co-chaired by Dr. Nagesh Prabhu, College Coordinator of NAIN, Professor and Head- Dept. of E&E, NMAMIT, Nitte and Prof. Shashank Shetty, Regional Coordinator- NAIN and Asst. professor- Dept. of CSE, NMAMIT, Nitte. The event started by prayer by Ms. Pooja Shetty, 3rd year CSE followed by Lightning of lamp.
Dr. Nagesh Prabhu welcomed all the guests. Prof. Shashank Shetty presented the Annual Report 2016-2017. Prof. Krishna Prasad Rao and Prof.Puneeth Reval P introduced the chief guests. Mr. Pradeep Kumar and Mr. Prashanth Kumar Shetty, Chief guests for the event wished all the participants for the competition. Dr. Niranjan N Chiplunkar, Principal delivered the presidential address. Prof. Rajath Rao delivered vote of thanks and Prof. Ankitha Nayak compered the event.
In Poster Presentation Competition, students from 17 selected Business proposals had actively participated and presented their business proposal before the expert committee. 17 teams (64 students) presented their thoughtful business proposal and out of which top 2 business proposals are selected and awarded as Winners (Team Aqua Care) and Runner up (Team Smart Shopper) and 2 business proposals (Team ACCU-BP and Team Green Porous concrete Pavement Block) are selected for consolation prize. The selection was based on 4 Criteria Innovation/ Creativity, Success Factor/ Feasibility, Presentation Skills and Entrepreneur Skills. In valedictory function Mr. Pradeep Kumar Udupi, Vice President, Technology and Innovation, Robosoft Technology, Udupi and Prof. Prashanth Kumar Shetty, Associate Professor, School of Information Sciences, Manipal University delivered their opinion on Poster Presentation Competition, the idea presented and innovation. Also, They gave their valuable Suggestions & feedbacks to all the teams.
