The Department of OBG Nursing, Nitte Usha Institute of Nursing Sciences organised “Safe Motherhood Day” on 11th April, 2018 in the OBG ward of Justice K.S Hegde Charitable Hospital. Prof. Philomena Fernandes was the resource person. She delivered a talk on the significance of safe motherhood and explained various aspects of reducing anaemia among women, better pre & postnatal care and newborn care. She also highlighted on the importance of family planning. The program began with a welcome speech and introduction of the resource person by Sr. Smitha, II M.Sc (N) who also compered and conducted the proceedings.
