TechKnights of NMAMIT shine at Smart India Hackathon 2018

The TechKnights Team of NMAMIT, Nitte represented the College at Pranveer Singh Institute of Technology (PSIT), Kanpur where 27 Central Government and 18 State Government ministries had come together with 408 problems  posed to the students for solution. TechKnights Team was one among the few teams to be selected for the final round of Smart India Hackathon 2018.

This grand initiative had more than 105234 students from various technical institutions in India, register with 17539 ideas. The 36-hour Hackathon ended on 31st March, 2018 and TechKnights team mentored by Mr. Sri Harsha, CEO of Kritsnam Technologies and Mr. Sudhir Gupta, Member, Strategic Board, Millennium Alliance, COO of DRISHTEE Development & Communication Ltd., was declared as Winners.

The team consisted of 6 students comprising Pradeep B, Sushmitha Rao & Swati Puranik from the Dept. of Computer Science & Engineering and Shwetha Rao, Anup Kamath & Akshay Kumar from the Dept. of Information Science & Engineering. They were honored with a trophy, cheque for Rs.1 lakh and other goodies by the Hon'ble Minister Satyapal Singh, Minister of State for HRD and former Police Commissioner of Mumbai. The team worked on the problem statement of “Dissemination of information regarding availability of water in water reservoirs” under the Ministry of Water Resources and Water Development and Ganga Rejuvenation.
