Road Safety & Drug abuse - MRPITI, Thokur

An awareness program on “Road Safety & Drug abuse” was jointly organized by NSS wing, Rover wing, Shree Ganeshothsava Samithi, Pakshikere & Vinayaka Mitra Mandali, Pakshikere on 20th July, 2018 at MRP ITI, Tapovana, Thokur.

“Breaking rules put others at risk, as youngsters drive violating the traffic rules thereby causing fatal accidents” said Mr. Sheethal Alagoor, Sub Inspector of Police, Mulki Police Station, in his inaugural speech.

He also stressed on how young minds are becoming the victims of drug abuse, which is harmful to a healthy society. He urged the Government to take immediate action by introducing preventive methods to save the youth from drugs.

Social activist, Mr. Nithin Vas explained the harmful effect of drugs to the students & gave some tips on how to stay away from these dangerous substances.

Mr. Dhananjay P. Shettigar, President, Shri Ganeshothsava Samithi, Pakshikere, delivered the introductory speech and explained the main objectives of the program.

Mr. Umesh Shettigar, President, Vinayaka Mithra Mandali; Mr. Laxmikanth, Training Officer and Mr. Suresh S, Rover leader were present at the function.

Mr. Sharan Acharya of E.M. trade recited the prayer. Mr. Y.N. Salian, Principal introduced and welcomed the guests. Mr. Hari H proposed the Vote of thanks.

Mr. Wilfred John Mathias compered the program. All the students, NSS volunteers, Rover volunteers , teaching and non teaching staff were present during the occasion.
