Guest lecture by Dr. Subramanyam - NGSMIPS

A guest lecture on “Prevention of Heart Diseases” was organised on 29th September, 2018, by the Department of Pharmacy Practice and NSS Unit of NGSM Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences on the occasion of the World Heart Day. The resource person for the event was Dr. Subramanyam K, Professor and Head, Department of Cardiology, KSHEMA.

The welcome address was rendered by Dr. C.S Shastry. He introduced the speaker and shared his concern on the increasing incidence of heart diseases, also emphasising on the need for employing necessary measures required in its prevention.

The key note speaker, Dr. Subramanyam K delivered an enthralling and thought provoking session which focused on the idea of how prevention is better than cure in this day and age. He briefed on the various risk factors and treatment options available in the management of cardiac diseases. The gathering was also enlightened on the grave importance of adopting various lifestyle modifications so as to prevent its occurrence. In the end, there was an interactive session with 130 staff and students. Dr. Juno. J. Joel, Asst. Professor, Department of Pharmacy Practice delivered the Vote of thanks.
