A CDE program on “INTEGRATIVE DENTISTRY” was conducted on 31st July 2019 by the Department of Periodontics in association with the Interns Academic Club and Inte-Dent Healthcare Pvt. Ltd, Bangalore.
The program started with invocation and lighting of the lamp. Prof (Dr) Biju Thomas welcomed the gathering and Prof (Dr) U.S. Krishna Nayak, Principal & Dean spoke about the possibilities of collaboration between the two specialities, followed by brief speeches by the dignitaries. The Chief guest, Prof. (Dr) Udaya D. K (Medical Superintendent at Karnataka Ayurveda Medical College) introduced to the gathering, the wide prospects in Ayurveda and its possible incorporation in dentistry.
The CDE program involved a lecture by Dr. Vaibhavi Joshipura (Founder & CEO of Inte-Dent Healthcare Pvt Ltd) on the various possibilities of integrating Ayurvedic treatment protocols into dental practice. This was followed by a webinar by Dr. Sukumar for 30 minutes and then an interactive session for PGs and staff by Dr. Vaibhavi Joshipura.
Around 250 participants consisting of faculty, PGs and interns of various departments of AB Shetty Memorial Institute of Dental Sciences and neighboring dental colleges and faculty & students from the Karnatak Ayurvedic Medical College, Mangalore attended this innovative and informative program.
