Closing Ceremony of NSS Special Camp - Dr.NSAM P U, Mangaluru

“NSS can do wonders if we believe that we can co-exist without discrimination of caste and creed” said Prof. Balakrishna Shetty, Principal, Ramakrishna College, Mangalore. He added that NSS is like a family with a service oriented motive. Besides teaching students to be broad-minded it helps build brotherhood and goodwill amongst all. He was the Chief Guest at the closing ceremony of the seven-day NSS special camp held at Ramakrishna High School, Pavoor, Harekala.

Guest of the day Mr. Chandrahas Shetty, Proprietor of Hotel Deepa Comforts, Mangalore was of the opinion that through NSS one can enhance the standard of living and lead a life of dignity.

Principal, Dr. Naveen Shetty K in his presidential address said that the purpose of hosting NSS special camp has been fulfilled, as he observed that the students were successful in cultivating a spirit of philanthropy, service, and sacrifice to a large extent.

To commemorate the Special Camp, the students built a ‘recharge pit’ next to the school building for the purpose of rainwater harvesting and dedicated it to the School Administration. Eleven students were recognized as best volunteers and felicitated on the occasion. NSS volunteer Rakshan and few others shared their experience. Dr. Sumalatha, Co-ordinator of NSS, Nitte Deemed to be University; Mr. Jayaram Alva Podaar, Convener of Ramakrisna High School were present on the occasion.
