Inauguration of ‘PUNAM’ - NSAMPUC, Mangaluru

“One does not have to be a soldier to serve his country. If the work assigned is neatly executed, then the country will automatically progress” said Dr. P. L Dharma, Director, College Development Council, Mangalore University after inaugurating the Old Students Association on 29th September 2019. He added that one should strive for the development of the country and student organizations must facilitate this and cultivate relationships beyond caste and creed. He opined that a clean mind and clean India should be one`s priority.

Guest of the day Mr. Prithvi Amber, Cine Actor mentioned that college days are precious in one’s life and it is a joyous moment to meet old friends after a long time gap. All alumni must join together and organise meaningful activities to build a better society.

Principal Dr. Naveen Shetty K in his presidential address informed that Dr. NSAM Pre University College after 20 years had taken the initiative of forming the OSA and it was a pleasure to see so many students register as members of the Association. He hoped the alumni would spread goodwill and cheer amongst all, like the oil lamp that eliminates darkness and illuminates the area around it. He stated that the OSA would provide a good platform to the students to involve in various activities that would help bring a positive change in society.

Guest Ms. Chaitra Shetty, Cine Artist congratulated the students on the occasion and wished them well. Ms. Apoorva P.B was elected as President, Mr. Ashwith Shetty as Secretary, Ms. Maitri as Joint Secretary, Mr. Sagar as Sports Secretary, Mr. Devish as Cultural Secretary. Ten others were elected as Executive members of the Alumni Association. Vice Principal Mrs. Annapoorna Naik was present on the occasion. Ms. Chinmayee rendered the prayer song; Mrs. Vidyarani Alva Lecturer in Mathematics welcomed the gathering; Mrs. Shakunthala Shetty, Commerce Lecturer introduced the guests while Mrs. Sangeetha Shetty, Lecturer in Statistics provided information on the objectives of the Association.

Ms. Maitri was the Master of Ceremony and Mr. Ashwith proposed the Vote of thanks.
