The much awaited Annual Sports Day was held on 26th October 2019 at Mangala Stadium, Mangaluru.
Chief guest, Ln. Vasanth Kumar Shetty, II Vice District Governor, Lions District 317D was welcomed by the Principal Dr. Naveen Shetty K. The Sports meet opened with the Chief guest lighting the ceremonial torch. This was followed by an impressive and well synchronized march past by all the classes to the rhythm of the march band. The chief guest presided over the oath taking ceremony and declared the sports meet open by releasing the balloons in the air.
The chief guest in his address said that “Sports is inspired by the joy of being involved, rather than result of victory or defeat. In a long run, one’s hard work and continued partnership in sports would fetch rich returns in terms of health, well being and contentment”.
Principal Dr. Naveen Shetty K in his presidential address said that participation in sports helps one to develop a positive attitude along with a good physique and physical & mental health. He further said that victory and defeat is a common practice in sports. He also quoted that One can grow by playing with an attitude that today’s looser wins tomorrow”.
The I Year Commerce CBAS students bagged the best March Past prize. The winners of track and field events like race, High jump, Long jump, Shot put and Discus throw were also awarded prizes. Rajath Shetty and Rashmi of II year PCMB compeered the program. Mr. Vidyadhar Takoor, Physical Director proposed the vote of thanks.
