The inauguration ceremony of the newly installed Mammography machine was held on 8th November 2019 in the Department of Radiodiagnosis. Sri N Vinaya Hegde, Chancellor, Nitte (Deemed to be University), Prof Dr M Shantharam Shetty, Pro Chancellor NitteDU, Dr Jayaprakash Shetty, Vice Dean, KSHEMA and Dr Shrikrishna, Head, Dept of Radiodiagnosis inaugurated the newly installed machine.
Siemens Mammomat Inspiration is a 3D Digital Mammography machine with tomosynthesis and stereotactic biopsy facility which is the first of its kind in Mangaluru. As a part of the International Day of Radiology, a talk on "Approach to breast lesion: A Radiologist's Perspective" was delivered by guest speaker Dr Janaki Dharmarajan from Amrita institute, Kochi.
