News from ABSMIDS | Training Program on ‘Protocols & Guidelines to be followed in Rural Dental Satellite Centres in view of the COVID-19 Pandemic’

To commemorate the National Public Health Dentistry Day, the Department of Public Health Dentistry, ABSMIDS organized a Training Program on ‘Protocols & Guidelines to be followed in Rural Dental Satellite Centres in view of the COVID-19 Pandemic’ for the staff in the Rural Satellite Centres on 17th June 2020. The program intended to educate the staff on the guidelines to be followed in the rural satellite centres, after the lockdown was lifted.

The welcome address was delivered Prof. (Dr) US Krishna Nayak, Principal, ABSMIDS. Prof. (Dr) Vikram Shetty, Dept. of Orthopaedics & Coordinator of the COVID Taskforce, Nitte DU gave a brief oversight about the functioning of the taskforce. Prof. (Dr) Sripad Mehandale, Head, Dept. of Anaesthesiology shared comprehensive information about the protocols and guidelines to be followed by the healthcare personnel during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Mrs. Sabitha, Asst. Nursing Superintendent, Justice KS Hegde Charitable Hospital delivered a lecture on ‘Hospital Disinfection Measures’. Dr. Audrey M D’Cruz and Dr. Sahana Maben spoke about the functioning of the Rural Dental Satellite Centres during the pandemic. Dr. Padmaraj Hegde, Coordinator of the ABSMIDS COVID Taskforce delivered the concluding remarks. Dr. Audrey M D’Cruz proposed the vote of thanks.

A total of 29 staff and 25 paramedical staff attended the program.
