News from NSAM PU, Mangaluru | Orientation Program

Orientation Program for the first year PU students and parents was held on 13-06-2022 at KSHEMA Auditorium, Deralakatte. Chief Guest, Dr. MS Moodithaya, Pro Vice-Chancellor, Nitte (Deemed to be University), spoke about the importance of imbibing the true essence of education. He emphasized the need to “re-orient” to the rapidly changing circumstances. In today’s era one needs to be flexible enough to unlearn and relearn progressively in order to succeed in life. As the students step in to start pre-university education, they should focus on improving both their ability and credibility to truly flourish in this competitive world. Every child born on this planet is bound to excel in his/her own path; parents should not fret about their child being exposed to this competitive environment, instead they should watch from far and let their child grow. It is the responsibility of the parents to allow the child to excel in his/her own way.

Dr. Moodithaya congratulated the parents for admitting their child to Dr. NSAM PU College and spoke about the great legacy of the institution and the value it inspires about a parent-child relationship.

Principal, Dr Naveen Shetty in his presidential address said that a child is a precious gift from God and it is the duty of parents and teachers to make the student a valuable asset. He further said that students who have joined the institution will have the hostel facilities while the local students can avail free bus facility. The institution prepares students for many competitive exams; apart from that it strives for the holistic development through extracurricular activities he added.

The program was attended by more than 500 participants which also included parents from Mandya, Mysore, Kodagu, Chikkamagaluru, Sakleshpur, Belgaum and Puttur.

Mrs Annapoorna Naik, Vice Principal; Mrs. Nalini Shetty, Lecturer in Biology; Mrs. Shakunthala Shetty, Lecturer in Commerce and Mr. Sharath Lecturer in Physics and other staff members participated in the program.
